There was big fun in Conway with the Big Wheel Races Saturday morning.
The 4th annual Big Wheel Races took off on Laurel Street in downtown.
About a dozen participants got their big wheel bikes.
Some of them looked like the original 3-wheeled bikes for younger kids.
While others were bigger and more creative.
The races brought out the big kids for most of the races.
And enjoyed having the young kids along the sidelines watching the action.
“Normally we have to watch them. So this is our chance to shine and let them see what they can someday be, if they try hard and do their homework someday they can look like us and compete in hardcore events like this,” said one racer dressed up like Hulk Hogan.
Most of the racers also dressed up in costumes, with it being Halloween.
But organizers said people usually dress up every year.
People lined the streets to cheer on the teams-of-two.
Racers had to cross the finish line, and if their bikes fell apart, they had to carry all of it to the end of the race.
“It was a blast, I was laughing the whole time. This guy might think differently,” said a participant dressed up at Luigi, as she pointed to her partner dressed as Mario. “It’s a small town fun. It’s great to see people come out,” added Mario.
Winners were award trophies, and even a road rash trophy was given out to the team that crashed the hardest and recovered the best from it.
